Visiting any of the Disney Parks or Resorts is always a special time, especially when visiting during a holiday. Disney celebrates many holidays with lavish decorations, special activities and over-lays for some of our favorite attractions, especially for Christmas. In the Magic Kingdom you can attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. At EPCOT, there is so much to do and taste during the International Festival of the Holidays. If you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then you can see all the old school Christmas decorations throughout the Park.
This is usually no different for Guests who enjoy being out to sea for the holidays. Guests can hop aboard one of the gorgeous ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and partake in the Very Merrytime Cruise, which would offer special activities and beautifully decorated ships to celebrate the holiday. Unfortunately, this did not work out for Guests who recently booked their holiday time at sea on the Disney Fantasy.
People who used the Disney Cruise Line website to book a trip on the Disney Fantasy, which was sailing on November 6, 2022, were expecting to go on the Very Merrytime Cruise. This as it turns out, was not the case. The Disney Cruise Line website mistakenly listed the November 6 sailing of the Disney Fantasy as a Very Merrytime Cruise, which it’s not. Guests have started to receive emails from Disney stating that the “cruise was inadvertently listed as a Very Merrytime Cruise on our website when this cruise will not feature a holiday theme.” Disney is offering to modify guests’ reservations to a sailing date that will include the Very Merrytime Cruise themed activities.
Guests on a Very Merrytime Cruise are offered many onboard activities that will make the season seem even more magical than it already is. They offer Guests the opportunity to enjoy a beautifully decorated ship, that includes a 24-foot Christmas tree, special photo opportunities with your favorite Disney Characters wearing their holiday best. Also included is a Winter Wonderland Celebration on deck where Guests can enjoy classic holiday music while watching the magnificent holiday fireworks show.
If you have children coming on this special cruise then there is plenty for them to do as well, such as Storytime with Mrs. Claus. This kid friendly activity is where children can sit and listen as Mrs. Claus reads them well-known Christmas stories. Children can also participate in some festive craft making, where they can get creative with some Christmas cheer.
Guests are also able to enjoy some holiday fun on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, which is turned into a winter wonderland with “snow” flurries and all. If you are a Disnerd like us, then you will also want to check out all of the exclusive holiday themed Disney Merchandise that is available on board. These are only some of the many activities that you will find on a Very Merrytime Cruise, so it is understandable that people would be upset over the Disney Cruise Line website’s error.
Mistakes happen, even for large corporations like Disney, but they are always willing to make it right. If you are one of the Guests that made a reservation for the November 6, 2022, sailing of the Disney Fantasy, and were hoping it would be a Very Merrytime Cruise, then you can contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or (407) 566-1019 or you can contact them through the Disney Cruise Line Website.
