Have you ever driven into one of Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort’s massive theme park parking lots and parked your car among the sea of fellow Disney fans’ vehicles? While we typically recommend taking a photo on your phone of your lot name and row letter or number – Disney is working to make the process even easier with the launch of a new feature.

Say goodbye to forgetting where you parked on your Disney Park day as Disney has announced a new car locator feature that is arriving on the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps beginning this summer.

According to Disney, the new car locator app will first be available at Walt Disney World Resort “this summer”, with Disneyland Resort’s app to offer the feature “later this year”.

The complimentary app addition is a new feature that is being sponsored by State Farm. Disney has announced, “Car locator is a complimentary feature that uses location technology to find and save your parking details. The feature functions best when you enable Location Services, Bluetooth, and Notifications on your mobile device.”

Not only will the car locator work at all four Walt Disney World Resort Parks including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom – but it will also be available at Disney Springs, the Disney Water Parks, as well as ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

So, how does it work? According to Disney, it’s as simple as opening your My Disney Experience app when visiting a Walt Disney World theme park or the locations mentioned above. You’ll simply tap the car locator card on your home screen. Don’t see the car locator card? Use the Feature Menu (☰) for access to the car locator feature.

Follow the prompts directed by the app to enter your parking information. Disney has noted, “If you choose to enable location permissions on your device, car locator can help fill in the details for you. When you’re ready to leave, return to car locator for your parking information.”

The My Disney Experience App now can help us locate our car after a long fun-filled Park day, as well as do its several other features such as the mobile ordering of food and beverage, making dining reservations, mobile merchandise check-out, a mobile Park map, provide attraction wait times, list showtimes for Disney entertainment, and more with the newer Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Lightning Lane additions.

We’ll be sure to share further details about this new feature, as well as when the car locator may be launching at Disneyland as soon as Disney releases them.
