While it seems The Walt Disney Company has put COVID-19 behind them for the most part, they may be second-guessing themselves about a current Disney Cruise Line Policy.
Recently, we reported that Walt Disney World said goodbye to the pandemic by removing every last sign in the Resort referencing the unprecedented event. Guests took to social media to report their excitement that things were finally returning to normal, without any reminders dragging them down on a visit to the Parks.
Disney Cruise Line, on the other hand, has yet to say farewell to COVID. The luxury experiences still require Guests to be vaccinated before boarding. All those eligible for a vaccine, including children five years old and over, must show proof of their shots before embarking.
Now, however, it seems that Disney may be second-guessing itself regarding its seemingly outdated policy. Much like the survey we recently discussed in our article about the Galactic Starcruiser’s recent price hikes, Disney Cruise Line is currently sending out their own questionnaire.
After the Star Wars-inspired hotel/experience debuted in Walt Disney World, Disney sent out surveys, reportedly in an attempt to figure out what went wrong. The venture did not do as well as they anticipated, although most Guests found it obvious why. The outlandish prices were to blame!
The Disney Cruise Line survey begs the question – is Disney planning on doing some damage control? Many competitor Cruise lines, such as Norwegian and Royal Caribbean, have already decreased or dropped their COVID-19 vaccination mandates.
Will Disney soon follow suit? The questions in the survey include queries about whether vaccination requirements have impacted their choice to book a vacation.
Some Disney Guests have cited that testing for larger families is expensive, causing them to book with alternative companies. Disney’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements differ based on their ports of departure, so interested Guests can check Disney Cruise Line’s website for guidelines.
We’ll see what Disney will do regarding current vaccination requirements. Will Disney Cruise Line be next in line, after Walt Disney World Resort, to say goodbye to COVID-19?
