Family’s everywhere dream of going on a Walt Disney World vacation. When it was announced that Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser would become a reality Disney and Star Wars fans alike, we’re extremely excited.

Chairman Josh D’Amaro shared that Make-A-Wish and other wish granting organizations would be the first to board Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Disney shares that these are some of the most special Guests and can’t wait to welcome these families from all over the country as they board on the maiden voyage.

Disney Parks Blog shared a really special story. A young Jedi named Luke is from White Springs, Florida and Disney gave him the surprise of a lifetime. See the video below.

Walt Disney World Ambassador Raevon Redding said: “Surprising Luke was one of the most special moments I’ve been part of at Disney. To see the pure shock and excitement spread across Luke’s face was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. I can’t wait to see that joy grow as he boards that magnificent ship for the first time.”

Disney loves working with organizations like Make-A-Wish. They have worked with them for more than four decades and have granted over 145,000 Disney inspired wishes.

Make-A-Wish America President and CEO Richard K. Davis shared: “I remain inspired by Disney’s dedication to fulfilling wishes in such a magical way and am delighted that these families will get to experience this ahead of anyone else.”

This maiden voyage was the most recent way that Disney is giving back to members of the community. There’s a recent three million dollar donation made in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, which helps causes throughout Central Florida.
