The Disney Wish, the newest ship to launch from Disney Cruise Line, is set to feature a variety of brand new experiences for Guests experiencing Disney at sea. The cruise ship will come complete with all-new areas exclusively for kids, teens and tweens, as well as adults and families, along with the AquaMouse, the first attraction at sea, and a lineup of new Broadway-style performances.

Among the new theatrical productions coming to the Disney Wish is ‘Disney The Little Mermaid,’ a Broadway-style adaptation of the 1989 Disney animated film. Disney previously shared that the show will be an original take on the film portrayed as a modern retelling with a new spin on timeless scenes and characters.

The first photos from the new production have been shared to Twitter by theme park journalist Scott Gustin:

Disney The Little Mermaid is gearing up to be one of the most innovated theatrical productions at sea with top-notch special effects, choreography, and a newly reimagined script inspired by the animated film.

The show’s biggest musical number will be “Under the Sea,” which will feature a stage packed with characters like Sebastian, Flounder, Ariel, and more singing, dancing, and performing puppetry to one of the most iconic Disney songs of all time.

Additionally, the show will use video projections to create a totally immersive environment, setting Guests in the theater right within each scene of the show. Other musical numbers will be reimagined to fit the tone and the design of the show, too, including “Kiss the Girl,” and Ursula’s standout song, “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”
