Get ready for a wickedly fun new experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Walt Disney World Resort has officially shared a “first listen” to Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, the all-new show coming to the Sunset Showcase next month.
Earlier this year, Disney confirmed that both Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 27, 2025. The Little Mermaid (1989) show will be a reimagining of Voyage of the Little Mermaid, a live show that disappeared from the Animation Courtyard after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will immerse guests in the dark and mischievous world of Disney’s most infamous baddies. During each performance, Disney Park guests can vote on which villain they think is the “most misunderstood.” Expect stunning technology, dynamic live performances, and high-energy dance routines that are sure to leave you in awe.
The show will feature appearances by some of Disney’s most iconic villains, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. These characters, and the Magic Mirror, appeared in a soundtrack teaser that Walt Disney World Resort shared on Thursday:
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After isn’t the only change on the horizon at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Last year, Walt Disney World Resort announced that Muppet*Vision 3D, The Muppets Courtyard, and Grand Avenue would be closing in phases to make way for a Monsters, Inc. (2001) themed land and roller coaster. The Muppets’ final performance will take place in June, but Disney has committed to preserving Muppet*Vision 3D for future generations.
Some fans are speculating that the Muppets could make their return to the Sunset Showcase when the new Disney Villains land opens at Magic Kingdom Park in the next few years, possibly replacing Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. While this remains unconfirmed, Disney has promised that the Muppets will live on next door, taking over Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster sometime in the future.
