Disney has revealed the big news that Genie+, the upcharge line-skipping service, has raised its price at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. In addition to the price hike, the rate will “vary by date” which makes the already complicated system even more mind-scratching.
And with the news of the Disney Genie+ price increase, Disney has also revealed ticket price increases coming to Disneyland Resort. Is there any GOOD news with all these price increases?
The extremely popular WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at Disney California Adventure Park has announced it will be dropped from its individual Lightning Lane status and will join the list of Disney Genie+ attractions available.
@ScottGustin took to social media to report, “NEW at Disneyland: WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure Lightning Lane is now part of Genie+. The attraction was previously an Individual Lightning Lane that had to be purchased a la carte – but it will be included in Genie+ effective Oct. 11.”
Previously, Guests seeking to ride Web Slingers could wait in the lengthy standby line or pay an individual a la carte fee for the attraction that would vary up to $20 for the single attraction.
So, while there is a price increase for Genie+ at Disneyland from $20 to $25, at least Guests visiting Disney California Adventure Park will have the option of using Genie+ on Web Slingers for one of their Genie selections.
Currently, at Disney California Adventure, this leaves Radiator Springs Racers as the only individual Lightning Lane attraction.
Guests purchasing Disney Genie+ at the Disney Park can attempt to gain access to the following attractions:
- Goofy’s Sky School
- Grizzly River Run
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
- Incredicoaster
- Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
- Soarin’ Over California
- Toy Story Midway Mania!
- WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
Keep in mind, Disney has made it very clear that typically a Disney Genie+ purchase only provides Guests access to 2 or 3 Genie+ attractions per day. We have, however, experienced Genie+ at Disney California Adventure and gained access to most of the rides listed above easily with Genie+. It all depends on crowd levels and wait times.
