Disney Rolls Out Ticket Price Increase of Nearly 10% (or More!)

Price increases are everywhere, and unfortunately for Disney fans, theme parks are no exception.

The Walt Disney World Resort typically increases its ticket prices annually after the new year, however, smaller price increases have been taking place throughout the year both at the Orlando Resort and on the West Coast at the Disneyland Resort.

Throughout 2022, we’ve already seen price increases on ticket add-ons like Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane selections, dining experiences, and more, and the latest price increase could seriously hurt your wallet as ticket prices were just adjusted for Disney Parks.

As of this morning, October 11, 2022, theme park tickets to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure have increased by nearly 10% depending on the date a Guest chooses to visit.

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin covered the updates in a Twitter post noting an average 8-9% increase for Disneyland tickets with select dates showing increases above these initial numbers:

Adding to the complication of Disney’s current structure where the cost of nearly everything seems to vary by date, the single largest increase for Disneyland ticket prices affects the two-day tickets, which have now increased to $285 from $255, making this an 11.76% increase.

Since ticket prices have previously increased around the same time each year, we would normally recommend that Guests purchase tickets well ahead of time to beat the price increases, but with the new pricing effective today, it seems Guests planning Disneyland trips are out of luck there.

Also worth noting is the fact that while ticket prices have increased, theme park reservations are still required and Disney Parks on both coasts continue to have restrictions on Park Hopping (with Guests unable to enter their second Park until 2:00 p.m.)

Given this morning’s news of pricing changes to Disney Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane selections, followed by new prices for theme park tickets at the Disneyland Resort, we are certainly keeping an eye out for any price changes out of Walt Disney World.

We will continue to monitor ticket pricing at both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, and will report back with additional information as we have it here on Disney Tips.
