A couple has shared their experience on social media after breaking up shortly before their nonrefundable Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The video amassed thousands of likes on TikTok, and other Disney Park guests shared their experiences going on prepaid trips with their exes.

Walt Disney World Resort offers flexible trip planning for Disney Resort hotels and Disney Park tickets. Guests can cancel 30 days or more out from their arrival and receive a full refund. Guests who cancel between two and 29 days out will receive a refund minus a $200 cancellation fee. Guests who cancel one day or less before arrival aren’t eligible for refunds.

Even with its generous cancellation policy, Walt Disney World Resort is willing to work with guests further. Many guests have avoided the cancellation fee by rebooking their vacations for further dates–some have even succeeded at getting a full refund for canceling those new reservations!

However, this only applies to Walt Disney World Resort bookings, not third-party services or other experiences guests booked for their Central Florida vacation. Unfortunately, canceling wasn’t an option for TikToker @mel.ani.eea and her ex. Before breaking up, the couple planned a trip to the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival in Orlando with a stop at Walt Disney World Resort.

The Disney Park guest shared this awkward video of herself and her ex-boyfriend in matching shirts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park:

“When yall break up but had a trip planned and paid for…,” the TikToker said.

The guest had a sense of humor about the situation, writing, “It’s funny now.”

In the comments, other Disney Park guests shared their similar experiences.

“No bc this literally happened to me and the trip was to Disney world too,” @biancaaa.gonzalez said.

“This was me earlier this year except it was my birthday trip,” @torivveee replied.

Others said they went alone or gave their exes’ tickets to friends.

“[I’ve] done this, got a new girl and took her instead,” said @rapture_mfg.
