Walt Disney World Resort’s first nighttime parade in almost a decade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, debuted on July 20, 2025. Unfortunately, in the days since its premiere, the entertainment offering has quickly become the center of multiple fights, hospitalizations, and bans.

With dazzling floats inspired by films like Moana (2016), Encanto (2021), and Wish (2023), Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away has quickly become a must-see attraction for Magic Kingdom Park visitors. Unfortunately, the excitement surrounding this spectacular new entertainment offering has led to several incidents that are far from magical.

One such incident occurred when a 51-year-old woman was arrested after injuring a 17-year-old girl during a dispute over a parade viewing spot. As reported, the altercation grew violent when the two Magic Kingdom Park guests clashed over the best place to watch the parade. Another guest shared that she was hospitalized after being shoved off the curb before a parade performance, resulting in a concussion.

On July 24, Reddit user u/Informal_Mouse_3977 witnessed a racially-charged fight over a parade-viewing spot firsthand. According to the Walt Disney World Resort guest, two families were involved in the dispute:

“On July 24th I was right beside these two families when they started fighting over a spot at the parade. The old white man even called the black woman the n word! They were both kicked out and the poor woman’s child was devastated”

According to the witness, the situation escalated when the woman and her daughter tried to squeeze into a spot that the man’s family had already claimed.

“From what I heard the man’s family was there first I guess,” they recalled. “But when the woman and her daughter tried to squeeze in, the man started getting really disrespectful and the wife apparently pushed her daughter. The woman then started saying that she isn’t moving and then the fight started.”

As the situation intensified, Walt Disney World Resort security was called to the scene, and both families were escorted off the premises.

Guests are encouraged to alert Disney cast members if they find themselves in a similar situation, as escalating conflicts could lead to dangerous consequences. Don’t let a fight over a parade-viewing spot end your visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

  1. Sadly, no, we didn’t get to view the parade because it was cancelled due to storms and heavy rain. I was sure looking forward to seeing it, but understand. Hacuna mattata

  2. At the parade tonight and saw an utter lack of crowd control and multiple people have panic attacks from being trapped in crowds forming on side walks where no passage could occur. Multiple staff at Disney were alerted to the situation and made no attempts to help. A fist fight broke out and lots of children witnessed this incident. Not the magic you expect but worse was the lack of security and help when the situation escalated. Very poor performance on behalf of Disney team.
