Disney Parks Continue to Ask Guests to Be Courteous During Their Visit

Have you experienced less courtesy from other Guests during your recent trips to Disney Parks?

Whether Guests are actually becoming less courteous or social media is simply showing us more of the negative incidents that can inevitably take place in public areas, Disney continues to take notice of Guest behavior by updating another theme park website.

Earlier this month, the Walt Disney World Resort updated the “Know Before You Go” page of its official website to include a section on courtesy. The change came following several instances of Guest altercations that sometimes became physical over the last couple of years.

Disneyland has now followed suit, noting:

We ask all who come to this happy place to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. To help Guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, we regularly update our Disneyland Resort rules.

Along with the courtesy update, the official Disneyland website notes that theme park rules can be updated at any time. Especially given recent instances of dress code violations (that at times, have been rather unclear to the Guests who have been found breaking the rules), we always recommend checking the rules ahead of your visit as they are subject to change.

Other theme parks, including Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA, have also gone so far as to institute chaperone policies, requiring younger Guests to be accompanied by an adult on weekends. So far, Disney has not enforced any kind of a similar policy.

Remember to be courteous to both other Guests and Cast Members during your upcoming trips to the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. And, if you do happen to see any less-than-courteous behavior taking place, be sure to alert a Cast Member so they can resolve the issue.
