Disneyland is changing one of its most familiar comfort foods.
Disney food menus experience frequent updates. Seasonal snacks arrive throughout the year, restaurants receive new dishes, and major events such as Halloween Time and the holidays regularly bring temporary additions to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
But Disney’s latest dining change is not tied to a festival or limited-time celebration. Instead, it comes from a new corporate partnership that is beginning to reshape food served throughout Disneyland Resort.
The Walt Disney Company announced a long-term, multi-year alliance with Kraft Heinz in July. The deal covers Disney’s U.S. theme parks and Disney Cruise Line, with 10 Kraft Heinz brands set to appear across menus, foodservice, marketing, and new guest experiences.
Now, one of the first major changes is already complete in California.
Disneyland Replaces Its Mac and Cheese Resort-Wide
Disneyland has dropped its previous mac and cheese recipes across the resort, with Kraft Mac & Cheese replacing every version currently served at Disneyland Resort.
The change was confirmed following D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where a Kraft Heinz representative shared more details about how the companies’ new partnership will affect Disney dining.
Kraft Mac & Cheese is becoming the exclusive mac and cheese at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Cruise Line. Disneyland has moved first, with all of its existing mac and cheese dishes already switched over.
That does not mean mac and cheese itself is disappearing from Disneyland menus.
Instead, the resort has removed the previous versions used in its restaurants and replaced them with different Kraft products designed to suit the dishes already being served.
Disney is reportedly using several varieties, including Kraft Deluxe Mac & Cheese and white cheddar versions. The aim is to select a Kraft product that most closely matches the flavor of each existing Disneyland dish.
That means the change extends beyond basic children’s meals.
At Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land, for example, Kraft now forms the base of the location’s mac and cheese cones. The venue has previously offered variations such as bacon mac and cheese and the Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone.
Mac and cheese already appears throughout Disneyland dining.
In July, Disney described chicken tenders and mac and cheese as staple choices for younger visitors while highlighting kids’ meals available across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Disney’s guide listed macaroni and cheese at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, Rancho del Zocalo, Alien Pizza Planet, and several other Disneyland restaurants, demonstrating how widely the change can be felt across the resort.
Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land also listed “Mack’s Mac & Cheese” among its kids’ meal offerings earlier this year.
Kraft Heinz Changes Go Beyond Mac and Cheese
The Kraft takeover is only one piece of a much larger Disney food partnership.
Kraft Heinz announced the agreement on July 21, confirming that brands including Heinz, Philadelphia, and Kraft Mac & Cheese would become part of dining experiences at Disney destinations in the United States and aboard Disney Cruise Line ships.
Some of those changes are already visible at Disneyland.
As previewed at D23, Heinz products are beginning to roll out to the Disney Parks. Edelweiss Snacks has already been switched over, with other locations (such as Red Rose Taverne) to follow in the coming days.

New Heinz condiment dispensers have appeared at Smokejumpers Grill in Disney California Adventure, offering barbecue sauce, ranch, and Simply tomato ketchup.
More Heinz products are expected to arrive as the rollout continues, while Philadelphia Cream Cheese is also set to replace cream cheese currently used across participating Disney menus, including cream cheese incorporated into recipes.
Disney menus will eventually identify dishes as “featuring” Kraft, Heinz, and Philadelphia, making the brands more visible to guests rather than limiting the partnership to behind-the-scenes ingredient changes.
Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line are also in the process of switching their mac and cheese offerings to Kraft, although Disneyland Resort has already completed the change.
The agreement marks a sizeable shift for Disney dining. Kraft Heinz said in July that the partnership would ultimately span foodservice, media, events, and other areas, with new menu offerings and custom Heinz equipment among the first changes announced.
What do you think of Disney switching to Kraft Mac & Cheese?
