Whenever you plan your Disney vacation, whether to Disneyland in California or Walt Disney World in Florida, you need to check the latest news. Some rides may be closed for refurbishment, and weather can change your plans during certain times of year.

If you plan to visit Disneyland Resort in California on January 10th, Splash Mountain will not be a part of your day. They have not announced how long the refurbishment will be taking place.

Many wonder if this is the extensive Princess and the Frog refurbishment that has been announced before. Disney has not confirmed or denied this. Sometimes a refurbishment can be a simple paint job and fixing little things here and there.

Since Splash Mountain is a water ride, it makes sense that the closure will be in the cooler months. Many Guests will not want to be walking around in January and February soaking wet.

Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have announced the Princess and the Frog change to this ride, and Imagineers still talk about it. There is no word though on when this could happen.

Splash Mountain is a good ride for those who are trying to ease their way into thrill rides. Most of the ride is a simple boat ride, but a five story drop at the end gives you an adrenaline rush. Make sure to smile or do a pose for the camera on the drop. Ride photos can be a great way to remember your vacation.

If you have your vacation planned for this time, don’t let that one attraction being down ruin your vacation. There is still so much at Disneyland to see and do, and you will have a magical time.
