An ‘Encanto’ Character Meet & Greet Was Just Spotted at Walt Disney World!

Could an ‘Encanto’ character meet and greet be coming soon to Walt Disney World? Well, Guests recently spotted one character from the iconic film in the Parks, prompting fans to wonder if this experience will one day become a permanent fixture.

The only regular character experience featuring anyone from the hit Disney animated film Encanto (2021) is Mirabel when she is featured in the Disney Adventure Friends character cavalcade that takes place in the Magic Kingdom. While both Mirabel and Bruno have been seen at the Disneyland Resort for meet and greets during special events, Guests at Walt Disney World have only been able to see Mirabel (and from a distance) until now.

During a recent trip to EPCOT on February 9, 2023, Guests spotted Mirabel greeting Guests near the bridge by International Gateway. Video of the surprise experience was captured and shared to Twitter by @ThatDisneyBoi:

At this time, it is unclear if the Mirabel meet and greet will become a permanent fixture at Walt Disney World, or if this is simply a fun surprise experience that likely predates a special event that would feature the character (in this case, it is possible that Mirabel will be at the 2023 runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend later this month.

We often see rare characters show up at International Gateway ahead of runDisney races, so this is our best guess for when Mirabel will be spotted next at Walt Disney World (outside of the Magic Kingdom cavalcade.)

Even if this Mirabel character meet and greet is not a permanent fixture at EPCOT, it is always possible that we will see more of the characters from Encanto in the future. In addition to the Disney Adventure Friends cavalcade, we have already seen costuming inspired by the film show up at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the Magic Kingdom, and the film makes up the theme of one of this month’s runDisney races.

We will continue to monitor updates on the status of characters from Encanto at Walt Disney World here on Disney Tips. In the meantime, if you are spending a day in EPCOT soon, be sure to check out International Gateway- You never know who you might see!
