Reopening Timeline Announced for Fantasmic! at Walt Disney World

It has been a long time coming, but Disney has finally announced when Fantasmic! will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The iconic Walt Disney World nighttime spectacular blends together special effects, including water projections, pyrotechnics, and more, alongside favorite Disney characters for an immersive look into how Mickey works to defeat the villains who invade his dream.

While the show has reopened at Disneyland Park, it is not been performed on the East Coast since prior to the closing of Disney Parks at the onset of the pandemic in 2020. Disney has been teasing the opening date for a couple of months now, sharing that the cast has been in rehearsals and testing some of the show’s systems, but we did not have confirmation of an official reopening timeframe until now.

As Disney previously shared, the return of Fantasmic! will also feature the inclusion of characters and stories from Aladdin (1992), Frozen (2013), and Moana (2016).

Guests are admitted into the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater on Sunset Boulevard for performances of Fantasmic! up to 90 minutes prior to showtime, and we recommend arriving early as the show is likely to fill up upon its return to this Disney Park. The setup of the amphitheater does ensure that every seat is a good seat, however, arriving early could ensure you will get to see the show on nights that it reaches capacity.

Disney confirmed that Fantasmic! will reopen in November, with no specific date announced so far. (The official Disney website has not yet been updated with showtimes, but we recommend checking there and on the My Disney Experience app as you plan your next Disney vacation.)

Disney has not yet shared whether the dining package will return for Fantasmic!, or whether the show will be included in Disney Genie+ as it was previously included as a FastPass+ option.
