Christmas at the Disney theme parks is meant to be a happy and memorable time. However, for some, their holiday vacation was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

There’s nothing like celebrating the festive season at a Disney resort. From seasonal events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to the numerous overlays at Disneyland Resort, the United States Disney theme parks welcome guests with a diverse range of offerings.

That said, despite the magic of the Christmas season, the real world can still slip into the Disney bubble, and that is just what happened at Disney California Adventure Park this week. As captured on social media and shared on @foosgonedisney, a physical fight broke out in the line for Radiator Springs Racers, with children nearby.

In the video, a group can be seen physically fighting in line for the e-ticket Disney ride. It is unclear as to why the fight broke out–although line-cutting could be a reason–but numerous people were involved. The video clearly shows one guest in a red shirt being restrained and others on the ground. Just ahead of the sparring families, children–some also filming the scuffle–are ushered further up the line, away from the conflict.

Like the reason for the breakout, it also remains a mystery as to the outcome of the fight. Usually, incidents like these will result in removal from the park, and possibly criminal charges and a lifetime ban. Unfortunately, fights like these are not uncommon at the Disney parks, especially during busy seasons like Christmas and New Year’s.

This year has seen its fair share of altercations, joining some of the most infamous fights on Disney property. It’s not just the domestic parks, either. Last year, guests were rushed into the auditorium at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris after a line-cutting incident turned into a violent group brawl.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.

  1. The infamous lifetime ban needs to be used in ALL cases like this – zero tolerance is (unfortunately) the only effective answer.
