Disney fans cannot get enough of a certain loveable, purple dragon! Whether it is at his own attraction in EPCOT’s Imagination pavilion, or in the form of a certain infamous popcorn bucket, Figment is a favorite Disney Parks character for many fans.

Lots of exciting news has been released regarding Figment over the last year, including a new character meet and greet experience that is in the works for EPCOT and even a Figment movie sometime down the line. The Figment updates have continued into the beginning of this year with pieces of the original Journey Into Imagination attraction making their way into the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts this January and February.

Another event sure to catch the attention of Figment fans was just announced as well, and it’s coming to the Disney Parks this fall. A fall visit to Walt Disney World is always packed with special events with the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom being some of the top reasons that Guests plan to visit this time of year.

Along with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival comes one of runDisney’s fan-favorite annual events with the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekened. This year’s event takes place November 2-5, 2023, and runDisney recently announced the full lineup of themes for the upcoming races.

Disney already shared that the weekend’s half marathon race would be themed to Encanto (2021) bringing the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios films to the Parks in an all-new way. The other races will be packed with beloved characters and stories, too, including Figment.

Let your imagination (and endurance) run wild as you head to Figment’s Open House for a visit into his topsy-turvy kitchen during the 2023 Disney Two Course Challenge. Participants will need just one spark of inspiration to complete both the Disney Wine & Dine 10K and Half Marathon, for a total of 19.3 miles, and earn a specialty challenge medal.

Along with Figment and Encanto, this year’s Wine & Dine Weekend 10K is themed to Beauty and the Beast (1991) while the 5K is themed to Alice in Wonderland (1951).
