Walt Disney World’s water parks offer experiences and theming that are just as exciting as the Resort’s four theme parks. And while we often recommend including a trip to a Disney water park in your vacation, Guests who have traveled to Walt Disney World throughout most of this year have only been able to visit one of the Resort’s two themed water parks.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has remained open for most of the year, while Blizzard Beach has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment with no reopening date in sight, until now that is. Along with the Park’s reopening date, Disney has announced that Guests visiting the Park will soon spot some new theming, and we are excited to share all of the details!

In  Disney’s latest press release, the company confirmed that Blizzard Beach will officially reopen to Guests very soon on November 13, 2022. When the Park reopens, Guests will find new thematic details inspired by Frozen (2013), bringing enhanced “flurries of fun” to this favorite Disney water park.

According to Disney’s official announcement, the Frozen theming will largely take over the Tike’s Peak area of the Park:

The new Frozen features will be part of the kid-sized thrills of Tike’s Peak that’s popular among young guests who will delight in the statuettes of Olaf and his Snowgie pals in the warm wading pool, as well as Anna and Elsa’s igloo castle.

Outside of Tike’s Peak, Guests will find new Frozen fun in the form of special treats and menu items available at quick-service dining locations and snack kiosks around the Park. Favorite treats that were launched prior to Blizzard Beach’s refurbishment are also set to return, including the Earidescent Ice Dream Cone, 50th Ice Dream Sand Pail Sundae and Walt’s Chili Nachos.

For Guests ages 21 and over, alcoholic beverages include the Orange Slope DOLE Whip Swirl at Warming Hut, and the Red Slope Bloody Mary at Frostbite Freddy’s and a Melt-A-Way Margarita at Polar Pub.

When Blizzard Beach reopens, Guests will also have the opportunity to once again experience their favorite attractions including Summit Plummet, one of the tallest, fastest freefall body slides, Teamboat Springs, the Park’s family raft ride, Toboggan Racers, Cross Country Creek, Runoff Rapids, and more.

Disney’s official description of Blizzard Beach reads:

As the legend goes, Disney’s Blizzard Beach was once Florida’s first ski-resort after a blizzarding winter storm hit Walt Disney World Resort. Yet, before the skiers could strap on their boots, sunny Florida weather returned and powdery snow quickly turned to slippery slush. Bobsled and toboggan runs became downhill waterslides; a creek of melted mountain snow became a relaxing tube ride; and the chairlift now carries swimmers instead of skiers. Full of plenty of icy architecture and water-ful attractions, the water park’s snowy atmosphere amid the warm temperatures of Florida continues to bring guests back to the winter wonderland year after year.

Mark November 13 on your calendar so you can set out to hit the slopes! And be sure to check back here at Disney Tips for all the latest updates as we learn more about the new offerings coming to Blizzard Beach.
