This Grand Floridian Restaurant Finally Has Some Updates!

Things have been quiet for the restaurants at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa since the Walt Disney World Resort reopened in the summer of 2020, but we finally have some new updates on one of the Resort’s popular dining locations.

The Grand Floridian Resort features some of the most beloved restaurants at Walt Disney World, and things have been changing in terms of dining at this resort for a couple of years now.

The former Mizner’s Lounge has been reimagined into the Enchanted Rose, inspired by the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast (2017), and Citricos, one of the Resort’s signature restaurants now has decor themed to Mary Poppins Returns (2018).

Staying on the second floor of the Resort, Victoria & Albert’s, Disney’s only AAA Five Diamond restaurant was recently redesigned, and the changes (or lack thereof) continue downstairs, too. The Garden View Tea Room has yet to reopen along with the Resort’s popular character buffet, 1900 Park Fare.

Nearby, the Grand Floridian Cafe has been open continuing one of the best brunches at Walt Disney World, and outside Narcoossee’s is also undergoing a refurbishment.

That leaves Gasparilla Island Grill, the Resort’s quick-service restaurant (and one of the best at any Disney Resort). So let’s dive in to see what’s new at the Grand Floridian’s popular quick-service spot…

The menu at Gasparilla Island Grill was just updated with some new snacks and entrees that look delicious, and the Disney Parks Blog shared all the details. For breakfast, the restaurant has debuted some lighter options (that can be the perfect start to a morning spent in the Magic kingdom) with the plant-based Açai Bowl made with açai sorbet, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, granola, and agave along with an Egg White Breakfast Wrap with egg whites, spinach, roasted tomatoes, and feta on a flour tortilla.

If you dine at Gasparilla Island Grill for lunch or dinner, the menu now includes an Italian sub with ham, salami, capicola, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, Italian dressing, and olive aioli, and a delicious Caprese Sandwich with red, yellow, and fire-roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, arugula, lettuce, basil, sherry vinaigrette, basil aïoli, and balsamic reduction on roasted tomato focaccia.

A Cuban Sandwich is also on the menu featuring mojo roasted pork, ham, Swiss, pickle, and mustard on Cuban bread and the Blackened Chicken Sandwich with blackened chicken, pepper jack, and coleslaw on a brioche bun.

Gasparilla Island Grill has always had a tasty selection of flatbreads and the new Broccoli & Roasted Tomato Flatbread is no different. This flatbread features roasted garlic, mozzarella, broccoli, fire-roasted tomatoes, and ricotta on house-made dough.

In keeping the theme of the Resort as a luxurious Floridian getaway, some local flavors are now appearing on the dinner menu at Gasparilla Island Grill. These items include the Mojo Chicken Bowl with chicken, jasmine rice, sweet potato, cilantro-scallion aïoli, and black bean and tomato salad. And for a similarly delicious option for plant-based diets, the restaurant now offers a Mojo Seitan Bowl with mojo seitan, jasmine rice, sweet potato, cilantro-scallion aïoli, and black bean and tomato salad.
