Genie+, effectively the paid replacement for FastPass+, now operates with dynamic pricing wherein Guests purchase the service as a ticket add-on at various prices based on the date of their visit to the Parks.
What started as a $15 per person, per day ticket add-on can now cost up to $29 depending on when Guests visit, and the dynamic pricing model has added a serious complication for those planning budgets for a day at Disney Parks, as the difference in cost per day could be staggering, especially for Guests traveling with larger parties.

As one of the busiest weeks of the year at Walt Disney World, it is no surprise that the price of Genie+ soared to $29 last week. Now, as Guests are heading home from the holiday week, the price has dropped down to $17, one of the lowest price points we’ve seen since the dynamic pricing was introduced.
It should be noted that while Disney Genie+ does function similarly to the previous FastPass+ system, in that Guests can select a return time on their phone to experience an attraction with little to no wait, some rides are not included in the Genie+ lineup and would require a separate Lightning Lane purchase.

Currently, attractions that are listed as Individual Lightning Lanes include Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
With Bob Chapek ousted as CEO of the Walt Disney Company and Bob Iger now back in his former position, many Disney fans are hoping that the Genie+ program will be overhauled altogether. Whether it simply becomes less confusing, or becomes an added perk for Resort Guests where several other values for staying on-site have been lost over the years, fans have been dreaming up several “solutions” to better Genie+.
