Goofy’s Sky School at Disney California Adventure Park recently faced an unexpected shutdown that left guests stranded and demanding compensation from cast members.

Originally debuting as Mulholland Madness in February 2001, this wild mouse coaster paid homage to Southern California’s infamous Mulholland Drive. Like its real-life counterpart, the attraction’s opening was rocky, closing just months later after three separate accidents raised safety alarms.

In 2010, Disney reimagined the coaster with a Goofy theme, transforming it into Goofy’s Sky School. The retheming was part of a broader effort to bring well-known characters into the struggling Disney California Adventure Park.

However, like any theme park ride, the kiddie coaster still experiences its share of issues. Last week, TikTok user @kaunsipooja captured footage of the ride breaking down mid-course, leading to a complete evacuation. Guests found themselves stuck in motionless cars, waiting for help as Disney cast members ascended emergency stairs.

“We don’t know yet but after getting stuck in this Disney ride we will be granted Lightning Lane passes for free,” the Disney Park guest wrote.

Following the evacuation, the guest was outspoken about demanding something from Disney cast members to make up for the inconvenience, stating, “You know I went and ask you owe us something,” in response to a viewer’s comment.

Disneyland Resort typically remains tight-lipped about minor ride stoppages, and this incident was no different. However, Goofy’s Sky School reopened quickly and was running as usual in the days after the incident. The shutdown is the latest chapter in a ride history marked by early troubles and ongoing technical difficulties.
