Is it August 30 yet? The Walt Disney Company is always up to something; this time, it has to do with Disney Cruise Line! Disney Cruise Line has been releasing sneak peeks of its latest ship, and in just a few days, we’ll know all the details. Disney Cruise Line reveals the Disney Treasure and all it encompasses on August 30.

In September 2022, chairman Josh D’Amaro announced the news for Disney Treasure. Over a year later, the ship is ready to be debuted to Guests. As a part of the original announcement, Disney put together concept art to give a glimpse into what the new ship will entail. As seen in the short clip below, The Grand Hall has nodes of Asia and African influence, along with paying homage to the classic film Aladdin (1992).

Disney Treasure Updates

Save the date because August 30 will be a big day for Disney fans! On August 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. EST. Disney is releasing “grand” details of the Disney Treasure. The virtual reveal will be everything we have been waiting for and more.

What We Know So Far

Disney has released quite a few updates over the months, keeping Disney fans on edge. Back in April 2023, Disney Parks Blog gave us an update on the ship themed with adventure. “Embodying the spirit of exploration and discovery, Captain Minnie Mouse revealed a new adventure-ready ensemble created exclusively for the new ship,” Disney wrote.

Starting in January 2023, Disney started a log of the ship’s progress, leading all the way through to July 18, 2023. We’ve seen the Keel Laying Ceremony, Disney Treasure’s captivating bow filigree, and the installment of the bridge block. Most recently, the team debuted an artist rendering of the ship’s stern. Disney wrote,

For 25 years, each ship in the fleet has been adorned with characters from beloved Disney stories. The Disney Treasure will follow this tradition with its own signature character sculptures that honor the ship’s motif of adventure, Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Harnessing the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Peter Pan will levitate next to the Disney Treasure to add the finishing touch to the ship’s stern filigree. Meanwhile, Peter Pan’s longtime rival, Captain Hook can be seen leaning out a porthole with a vengeful expression on his face. Paintbrush and paint bucket in hand, Peter Pan sports a mischievous grin as he glances back at Captain Hook, who is dripping in yellow paint.
