This summer, more character meet-and-greets are returning to Walt Disney World. While some classic Disney friends can always be found in the parks (Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella), others can often only be seen at special events.

This May, a reimagined Pixar Place will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. According to Disney, it will be an updated Edna Mode Experience returning to the famous theme Park on May 14, 2023! The attraction will guide Disney Guests through a queue of superhero outfits and framed artwork featuring (fictitious) magazine covers and articles starring Edna and her creations.

Old Friends Are New Again

In addition to the fabulous fashionista, the indoor meet-and-greet will include opportunities to get photos and autographs with Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, and Frozone. The area will be near Toy Story Land, where many Pixar characters greeted their fans before the COVID-19 pandemic.

This return of the classic characters is a welcomed update because the space was an underutilized area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park for years, and when it opened, it still left much to be desired.

There May Be Monsters…

The Incredible family and their friends are some of the most popular Pixar characters among Disney fans. However, so are Mike, Sulley, and the rest of the Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Monsters University (2013) clans. It has also been reported that at least Sulley will be joining the Incredibles, but we are keeping an eye on Mike.

Mike and Sulley are currently meeting Guests of Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney Presents, but their last day in that location is April 29.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
