Last year, Disney revealed that an entirely new concept is in the works to bring new ways Imagineered communities to several locations across the country. The first of these new Storyliving communities, Cotino, is already under construction in Rancho Mirage, CA.
Previously, Disney shared insight into Cotino, largely focusing on the communities amenities and its connection to Walt Disney (who used to vacation in the Greater Palm Springs Area with his wife, Lillian.) Cotino will feature stunning new homes, along with community amenities and events, all created with Disney’s immersive design skills in mind, along with a neighborhood dedicated to residents 55 and over.

As a totally Imagineered community, residents of Cotino will be able to take in special experiences with magical Disney (and Pixar) touches. Some of the Pixar-inspired theming and amenities in Cotino will take its cues from none other than the hit animated films, The Incredibles (2004) and The Incredibles 2 (2018).
The Disney Parks Blog recently noted that one of the community spaces in Cotino will be Parr House, a building inspired by the midcentury home of The Incredibles, available to members of the Artisan Club (one of the groups that will be part of Disney’s Storyliving communities). The building will house special events, with places for members to plan celebrations, and it will offer some overnight accommodations.
Inside Parr House, residents will find upscale amenities with nods to the film through decor and color styles, while outside, the elevated patio will channel the look of the Pixar-inspired home with breathtaking views of the nearby mountains.

Disney shared additional amenities exclusive to Artisan Club Members:
In addition to Parr House, Artisan Club members will experience a touch of the Disney lifestyle in a clubhouse complex featuring distinct spaces for dining, wellness, art, recreation and entertainment. All amenities are being thoughtfully inspired by Disney Imagineers to foster community connections and encourage the pursuit of individual passions.
For residents who are not Artisan Club members, access to some of the amenities and a beach park will be available with the purchase of a day pass.
Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney Community, is set to open in 2024, so we expect more details on the community’s amenities and special events to be available soon. In Disney’s initial announcement for Cotino, the company shared that more Storyliving communities will be built in the future, however, no locations have been shared for later development so far.
