Disney Just Revealed Big Updates for the Future of Its Storyliving Community

We are finally getting more information on Disney’s new Storyliving Community. The new community, called “Cotino,” is marketed as “the ultimate destination for curious dreamers and doers seeking exploration, innovation, and inspiration.” The Disney community is currently being built in Palm Springs, California, but the details of Cotino have been mainly concealed. On January 31, Disney finally revealed some more information about Cotino in a new video released on their Youtube Channel.

What We Now Know About Cotino Community

The newly released video shows aerial views of the Cotino Storyliving Community building site for the first time. Amy Young, Cotino’s Creative Director, and Cathy Ritenour, Cotino’s Development and Production Design Executive, narrated the video. The video shows a behind-the-scenes look at a “paint-out” that happened on the Cotino community site in Greater Palm Springs.

At this paint-out, 12 Disney Imagineers gathered together to paint imagery inspired by the area’s natural landscape and mountainous terrain. They set up before sunrise to capture the stunning colors of the San Jacinto mountains at daybreak.

The artwork that Disney Imagineers created at the paint-out will be used throughout the new community. Young and Ritenour explain that Coninto is going to be a “creative oasis”, and this artwork will help infuse that into the Disney community.

Aerial footage of the site shows significant developments being made on the land’s development. It is clear that production on Cotino is well underway. Cotino Storyliving Community is sure to be one of the most significant recent accomplishments of Walt Disney Imagineering.

At the end of the video, it was announced that Cotino plans to welcome it’s first Guests in 2023- yes, you heard that right! Contino could be your new home as soon as this year.

We are so excited to see progress in the development of this exciting new Storyliving community. From the look of the designs, the Cotino community will be absolutely stunning and unlike anything we have ever seen before. One of the highlights of this residential community is a massive Crystal Lagoon that will be the center of Cotino. We can’t wait to see the executed vision of the Disney Imagineers and witness Cotino in its full glory very soon.
