Hair Clips Got This Disney Guest Stopped by Security

Safety is the top priority for all Disney Cast Members, but especially those working in security by the entrance to each Park. With certain items prohibited from Disney Parks altogether, and with dress codes to enforce, Cast Members by Disney Park entrances have a lot to look out for.

Guests have been stopped by security for several reasons that in the end have not necessarily ended up posing any real danger (often this is a case of keychains or pins depicting weapons.) Recently one Guest at Disneyland was stopped due to her hair clips.

@just_call_me_eli took to TikTok to share the hairclips that had Disneyland’s security team questioning her look:

Of course, the hair clips are just a unique accessory, but since they looked like knives security stepped in to ensure they were not actual weapons. According to comments on the video, this Guest was allowed to enter the Park without removing them once security confirmed that they were indeed just hair clips.

Disneyland’s official website notes that the following items are not allowed in its theme parks:

  • Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind.
  • Self-defense or restraining devices (e.g., pepper spray, mace).
  • Objects or toys that appear to be firearms or weapons.

In the past, several Guests have also reported being stopped by security for carrying items like keychains depicting brass knuckles and pepper spray. More often than not, however, especially over the last couple of years, Guests who are stopped at the entrance to a Disney Park are out of dress code, which has its own set of rules to follow as well.

If a Guest is stopped by security and asked to remove a certain item before entering the Park, they will have the option of either storing it in their car if they drove to the Park or using a locker. In the past, Guests out of dress code were sometimes able to receive a certificate to pick up a shirt at the closest gift shop, but this practice has come to an end as a result of a social media trend attempting to take advantage of it.
