Spooky season has arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort, and along with it comes the very first lineup of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party events in the Magic Kingdom since 2019.

The annual Halloween event returns with a packed schedule of entertainment offerings including the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, and of course, the iconic Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade.

The parade features a host of Disney characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy all dressed up in their Halloween costumes, along with characters from the Haunted Mansion attraction like the hitchhiking ghosts, gravediggers, and ballroom dancers, plus a variety of Disney villains. New for this year’s parade is an appearance by Max Goof dressed up as Powerline, the pop sensation seen in A Goofy Movie (1995).

One of the most highly anticipated characters in Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, however, actually makes his way down the parade route just before the parade kicks off: The Headless Horseman.

The Headless Horseman rides down the parade route holding a glowing pumpkin making up one of the most memorable sights Guests can take in while attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. At past events, the Headless Horseman has even been featured in PhotoPass Magic Shots so Guests can (safely) take home a memory of them with this spooky season tradition in the Magic Kingdom.

Outside of the Halloween season, the Headless Horseman is likely one of the most obscure Disney characters as he appears only in The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949). From August to October, however, Guests will be thrilled to see him once again make his way through this Disney Park during the Halloween party.

Theme park journalist Scott Gustin shared the following video of the Headless Horseman as he made his return to the Magic Kingdom on August 16, 2022:

You can see the Headless Horseman before the rest of Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade by standing anywhere along the parade route, which begins in Frontierland and runs through Liberty Square, around the hub by Cinderella Castle, and down Main Street, U.S.A., ending in Town Square.

The parade is scheduled for two performances on each night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, with the second showing typically being less crowded than the first. Just be sure to watch out for inclement weather in case it looks like rain later in the evening!

Catch a glimpse of dastardly villains, ghastly ghouls and a few other iconic Characters as they float by during this spellbinding parade.

Twice nightly, this beloved cavalcade brings forth an assortment of fiendishly fun floats, as each land of the Magic Kingdom comes together to celebrate during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—offered on select nights from August 12 through October 31, 2022.

Highlights include:

  • A flurry of favorite Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, donning Halloween costumes as they prepare to go trick-or-treat down Main Street, U.S.A.

  • Hitchhiking Ghosts and the spectral Bride, who glides among the waltzing spirits—representing the Haunted Mansion from Liberty Square

  • Pirates sail in from Adventureland, Clarabelle Cow hosts a square dance during a Frontierland hoedown and a wicked assortment of Disney Villains reign over a Fantasyland-inspired grand finale

Don’t miss the Headless Horseman during your next trip to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and happy Halloween!
