It’s no secret that Disney Parks thrive on creating magical moments for their Guests. Many of us have heard stories of special, surprise occurrences visitors have experienced at the Resorts.
In fact, several of us have our own unique tales of how a Disney Cast Member went out of their way to do something extraordinary on a trip to the Parks. One of these heartwarming moments was caught on camera a few days ago.
In a video shared by @jeanettetapley on Tik Tok, a Cast Member playing Anna from Frozen (2013) took the mom by surprise when she unexpectedly started using sign language with her daughter! This was the first time her daughter ever got to experience a conversation with a Disney character without needing her parents to translate for her.
Needless to say, it was an incredibly touching moment for the family, who offered special thanks to Princess Anna for making their trip so magical. The video is perfectly set to the song “For the First Time in Forever” from the beloved film and is quite moving to watch.
@jeanettetapley When Princess Anna can sign and have a full conversation with my deaf child. ? Zoe has never been able to chat with a princess without Jesse or myself interpreting. This was magical. Thank you Princess Anna for making our trip so special! #deafchildren #asl #americansignlanguage #BigInkEnergy #fyp #feelgood #inclusionmatters @Disney Parks @Disneyland California ♬ For the First Time in Forever – From “Frozen”/Soundtrack Version – Kristen Bell & Idina Menzel
This is not the first time Guests have witnessed a sign language interaction at the Resort. There have been other instances like this caught on camera at Disneyland Park.
Disneyland actually has an explanation of their sign language interpretation services on their official website. The Resort also provides sign language services for Guests at specific live theme Park shows.
This service is available at Disneyland Park on Mondays and Saturdays, and at Disney California Adventure Park on Sundays and Fridays. Who knew?!
Disney has a schedule of performances that include sign language interpretation. It resides in the section that covers Services for Guests with Hearing Disabilities.
I don’t know about you, but I’m impressed! I never knew this existed, did you?
