iCan the Showbot Appears at Walt Disney World for the First Time Since 2017

Guests visiting EPCOT today were surprised to see a familiar face from Walt Disney World history. iCan the Showbot, who formerly roamed Tomorrowland interacting with Guests at the Magic Kingdom, has been spotted in EPCOT!

iCan, the interactive “showbot” was last seen around Rockettower Plaza in Tomorrowland, where he greeted Guests in an attempt to learn more about Earthling culture.

The bot’s past visits to Walt Disney World were limited to a couple of months in 2017, but he was very positively received by Guests who loved having the interactive robot element as a fun new meet and greet of sorts in Tomorrowland.

Disney did not officially announce that iCan would be spending some time in EPCOT, so Guests were surprised to see the robot while heading into the park today for the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

iCan is not currently listed on either Disney’s official website or the My Disney Experience app, and no announcement has been made regarding whether or not this sighting will also be a limited engagement like his past time spent in Tomorrowland.

If Guests continue to respond positively to iCan as a new interactive experience in EPCOT’s World Discovery, it is possible that Disney will decide to keep him around. For now, though, it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see!

iCan is not the first interactive robot to arrive at Walt Disney World. Longtime visitors to Magic Kingdom Park may remember a certain interactive trash can, whose run in the park ended in 2014. PUSH the Talking Trash can was a fan favorite interactive element in Tomorrowland that likely would have remained in the park if it were not for the company that managed it removing it.

If you have an upcoming trip to EPCOT, be sure to keep an eye out for iCan while exploring World Discovery!
