If you are keeping up with the cruise industry, you know that one of the big things happening for Disney Cruise Line is the brand new ship, the Disney Wish. When Disney announced this back in 2021, future travelers were excited, and we are already dreaming of how magical it will be.

It will be the most elegant cruise ship to date, and we’ll be featuring brand new experiences specific to the Disney Wish. This includes the first ever attraction at sea, the Aquamouse, and a Frozen dining experience unlike anything else you’ve seen before.

The ship was set to have its maiden voyage on June 9, 2022, and was going to depart from Port Canaveral in Florida. On February 3, Disney Cruise Line sent out an email to those who had a reservation telling them; unfortunately, the first 12 voyages had been canceled.

On the Disney Cruise Line website, booking a future cruise on the Disney wish had also been temporarily suspended, but as of today, Guests can now book their future trip on the Disney Wish again.
Disney never officially said this, but it is thought to be for those who had a reservation that had been canceled to be able to secure a spot on the later cruise. The ship’s maiden voyage will now be July 14, 2022.

Although many were disappointed with the announcement that their trip was canceled, they were offered an option of a 50% discount on a future cruise departing by December 31, 2023. That’s a big way to soften the disappointment.
