Johnny Depp has made headlines quite a few times in previous weeks. The beloved actor is best known for his role in Pirates of the Caribbean (2003) and has had some recent turbulence in his personal life. Although the year prior was also a struggle for the actor, with the trial including his ex-wife Amber Heard, he has recently been facing health concerns.

As previously reported, the 60-year-old actor was found passed out at a hotel, leading to one of his shows, The Hollywood Vampires, to be canceled. Since then, Depp seems to be doing better and began touring again with the band. More recently, he was spotted in Boston, Massachusetts, for a show, but fans sparked concern when images appeared of him walking with a cane.

Johnny Depp Recovery

Johnny Depp is loved for so many of his famous films. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, of course, is a Disney favorite, but he’s also known for his roles in Edward Scissorhands (1990), Finding Neverland (2004), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). For many years he has been in the public eye, and despite the very public trial in 2022 with his ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp has still kept his composure. With his recent health concerns, fans worry that he may not be able to continue on as a performer or ever again return to film.

This past weekend, Depp performed live with The Hollywood Vampires in Boston, MA. Fans were ecstatic to see the actor after headlines broke he passed out in a Budapest hotel. Furthermore, fans did realize he was having trouble walking at the beginning of the show. “Johnny Depp arrived in Boston Friday using the assistance of a cane ahead of his concert,” Page Six reports. Although Depp was seen as overjoyed to see his fans just as much as they were, it did raise some flags if he was improving.

His initial ankle injury is what lead to canceling a previous show, but the actor wanted to continue on with the tour. Showing his gratitude at the concert gave fans the hope they were looking for that although he may have a bummed ankle, he’s still in good spirits.

Will Johnny Depp Return to Acting?

“Despite his recent struggles with health and relationships, Depp’s fans are thrilled to see him back on his feet and performing again,” as Disney Dining writes. Although he was using assistance to walk, it seems he is on the road to recovery. Fans have played a huge role in Depp’s perception in the public, wanting nothing more but a comeback from the actor. “Not only did hundreds of thousands petition to have him reinstated as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, but they made hashtag #JusticeForJohnnyDepp go viral,” Inside the Magic details.
