Built to be reminiscent of the Bavarian region’s famous Oktoberfest celebration, this meal may just fool you into thinking you are celebrating in the Hofbräuhaus Haus in Munich, Germany. We assure you it’s much cheaper than booking a plane ticket to Europe, and you’ll enjoy cuisine that is a staple part of the German festival experience.

As soon as you round the corner of the World Showcase Lagoon and see the beautiful architecture of each country, you are transported to places that abound in culture, fun, and dining options. Quick service spots like Sommerfest, Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, and La Cantina De San Angel and table service restaurant options like Biergarten Restaurant and Chefs de France are excellent choices for lunch or dinner.

If you want to slow down and enjoy a table service meal, you should make advance dining reservations online or on the My Disney Experience App before your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Families looking to enjoy a sit-down meal may save money by opting for a bottomless restaurant like the hidden gem Biergarten Restaurant. If you have heavy eaters in your family, you can enjoy your fill without worrying about the cost of a traditional menu.

Biergarten Restaurant’s dining room is reminiscent of a Bavarian village with a beautiful themed town square setup. The seating area is in front of a wooden festival stage, and the scene is surrounded by house fronts like you’d find in German towns. The exposed timbers of the houses and the low lighting mentally transport Guests, making them feel like they are in the town square in Nuremberg or Munich, Germany, instead of at Walt Disney World Resort! The restaurant is lined with picnic tables for communal seating.

This seating arrangement is a staple part of the community-centered atmosphere at Oktoberfest and at this restaurant. Depending on the size of your party, you may be grouped in the dining room for communal seating with one or more other parties. Introduce yourself and make a new friend as you kick back to enjoy a meal and great music.

When seated, a Cast Member server will check in to offer drink options. Soft drinks are included with the meal price of $49 per adult and $27 per child. You’ll also have the option of adding on a traditional German beer or wine, and we hope you do. The German Beer Flight is $16 and allows you to taste 4, 5-ounce pours of Beck’s Pilsner, Warsteiner Dunkel, König Ludwig Weissbier, and Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. Or you can opt for a more traditional German festival option and buy a beer by the half-liter or liter size in a giant beer stein. Wine options like Riesling from the famous Mosel region of Germany abound on this menu, and you can even choose a wine flight for $17 if you want to taste several wine options.

After you have placed your drink order, it’s time to hit the buffet. Start your meal off by choosing from fresh seasonal salads. You will also find an assortment of bread and rolls, including, you guessed it – pretzels. After all, what is a German festival without pretzels? Buffet options change occasionally, and this is not an exhaustive list. Still, you can look forward to enjoying dishes like traditional German sausages, juicy rotisserie chicken, and tangy sauerkraut on the menu.

Roasted fish in a buttery sauce is a delicious buffet choice. Plant-based options like green beans and roasted or boiled potatoes will also be perfectly seasoned and ready to enjoy. Noodle lovers and diners should try the Spätzle and Nudel Gratin for a plant-based option. Of course, we cannot forget the quintessential German food Schnitzel- juicy and fried to perfection.

About Katie Chapman

Hey There! I am a Georgia native with a passion for writing, traveling, cooking, decorating, pugs and of course all things Disney. Growing up in South Georgia just a few hours from Walt Disney World made for a magical childhood. Some of my best memories were made on Main Street U.S.A. with my sister watching SpectroMagic nighttime parade or beside my grandparents, parents and extended family at Chef Mickey’s celebrating on a family vacation. Epcot was my favorite park from a young age and I credit it with my interest in and love for international travel. As a kid I loved meeting characters and watching films around World Showcase and could spend hours exploring each of the countries in Epcot. These days, my husband and I get away to explore a new country whenever we can and even incorporate trips to The Disney Store and Disney Parks around the world in our travels. One of our travel goals is to visit every Disney Park in the world. I love writing about Disney restaurants, park tips, Disney outfit inspiration and Disney history. Pocahontas is my favorite Disney Princess (90s kid here!) but Mr. Toad is my spirit animal. When I’m not at Disney I’m reading about park history, watching Disney documentaries and shopping vintage Disney merch for park outfits. I never pass up a reservation to Ohana, an empty seat on Living with the Land or a Violet Sake.
