Jordan Fisher Joins Disney Fans in Hoping for the Return of ‘Happily Ever After’

Missing Happily Ever After? You’re not alone! Fans of the Walt Disney World Resort have been missing this iconic fireworks show since it ended last October to make way for Disney Enchantment, the special 50th anniversary fireworks spectacular now performing nightly in the Magic Kingdom.

Happily Ever After only debuted in 2017, following the 13-year run of Wishes as the main fireworks spectacular in Magic Kingdom Park. While the show performed most nights from its May 2017 debut throughout some of 2020, Happily Ever After certainly had its time cut short when Disney Parks closed at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and later when they reopened but without fireworks and parades.

While Happily Ever After did eventually return, it ended (far too abruptly for many fans) in time to debut Disney Enchantment on the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort on October 1, 2021.

Since Disney Enchantment debuted, fans have been calling on Disney to bring back its predecessor but to no avail. And while the show had its “final” performance last September, many are unsure if the end of Happily Ever After was ever intended to be permanent.

Among those fans who are left wondering about the future of this iconic Disney nighttime spectacular, is none other than Jordan Fisher, who performed the memorable theme song in the fireworks’ soundtrack.

Fisher took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Happily Ever After, implying that he, too, would like to see this show back at the Magic Kingdom:

Fisher has been a huge fan of Happily Ever After since its debut, and it surely holds a special place in his heart as he performed the original song for the show alongside Angie Keilhauer and a number of hit songs from Disney animated films.

On the final night of Happily Ever After in the Magic Kingdom, the day before Disney Enchantment debuted, the actor and singer shared an emotional video of himself enjoying the show alongside his wife, actress Ellie Woods:

Whether or not Happily Ever After is over permanently remains unclear. Even though Disney never announced a return date (and its last performance was marketed as its final show), Disney is known to bring back popular Guest experiences from time to time.

And, it is possible that Disney Enchantment is the real limited-time experience as this show may only be around for the 50th anniversary celebration which ends in the spring.

Disney’s official description of Happily Ever After read:

Go on a dazzling journey of color, light and song that captures the heart, humor and heroism of favorite Disney animated films. Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle becomes part of the story by magically transforming through amazing state-of-the art projection technology you have to see to believe.

This astounding fireworks extravaganza uses lights, lasers and special effects, plus a soaring score featuring contemporary versions of beloved Disney songs.

Discover the magic of movies—and be inspired to find your own happily ever after.
