There is nothing quite like staying right in the middle of the magic at the Walt Disney World Resort, and for many Guests, staying on property is a must.
All Disney World Resort hotels come with special benefits exclusive to Resort Guests, like complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks, immersive theming around the hotels (and in their Guest rooms), and even early entry into the four theme parks.
For Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, extended evening hours serve as another major perk, along with increased recreational offerings and special experiences, like the chance to stay in a savanna-view room in the case of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

When booking your stay at a Disney Resort, you may want to check on if any refurbishments could be scheduled during your visit. While they may not be noticeable (and they are certainly for the best as they result in improved amenities and Guest Rooms), refurbishments can also mean construction might be going on during your stay.
Several Disney Resorts are currently undergoing refurbishments, including Disney’s Beach Club Resort near EPCOT, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort near the Magic Kingdom. Work has been ongoing at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn as well, where new Guest rooms were recently unveiled, and the lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is on the list of future updates as well.
Another Resort that is currently undergoing refurbishment is Kidani Village at Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge. Kidani Village offers deluxe studio stays and breathtaking villas as a Disney Vacation Club Resort with additional space and amenities during their stay. While located a short walk from Jambo House, the main building at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Guests at Kidani Village can take in views of their own savanna and enjoy specialty dining at Sanaa nearby their accommodations in a grand villa.
According to Disney’s official website:
Through September 2023, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village will be undergoing refurbishment. During this time, you may be able to see and hear construction during the daytime hours.
With no specifics shared from Disney, the refurbishment at Kidani Village is most likely regular maintenance work. Still, with work continuing into this fall, you may want to confirm your room location in relation to the construction if you choose to book this Resort soon.
You can always check to see if a refurbishment is scheduled for the Resort you are hoping to stay at on Disney’s official website ahead of your trip. Happy planning!
