Memory Maker is an amazing add-on purchase to a Disney Vacation. Memory Maker gives you all of your photos, taken by Disney photographers, for a set price rather than paying individually or for packages after your vacation is over. Here are 8 excellent tips for using Memory Maker at Disney World so you get the most out of your purchase:

8. Purchase in advance before your trip

You will save a little chunk of change if you purchase Memory Maker before your trip. It is a $30 difference in the price, and every little bit of savings adds up. You must purchase at least 3 days before your trip in order to get the discounted pricing.

7. Only purchase one Memory Maker

You won’t need to purchase more than one Memory Maker for each member of your party. One Memory Maker will work for everyone that is in the same travel party and they will all be able to utilize the Memory Maker without everyone being together at the same time. It is really convenient and saves the costs of purchasing multiple.

6. Make sure your Memory Maker is linked

This is a very important step. If you want your Memory Maker to work with your Magic Bands, you will need to make sure that it is linked to your reservation. This will also link the Memory Maker to all travelers in your party so that everyone will be able to use it. Make sure to do this as soon as you purchase it so you won’t have to worry about it later.

5. What to do for ride photos

After you ride one of the rides that offer a photo, you will notice that you are able to tap your band or admission card to add the photo to your account. When you have Memory Maker, you don’t have to do this. The rides have built-in Disney magic that will be able to detect you and link your party’s photo to your account, even if you are split up in different vehicles. You don’t have to tap your band under your photo at the end of the ride, but if you want to be extra sure that you get the right photo you can, just know that you may experience duplicate in your Memory Maker account if you do.

4. Plan dining experiences that offer Memory Maker

There are a few dining experiences across property that offer Memory Maker, which means that you won’t have to purchase the picture package (unless you want the already printed photos, but they do run around $30 for a package) during your meal. You will get the pictures added to your Memory Maker and you can print them at your convenience. Here are the dining locations that are included:

1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (Epcot – Norway Pavilion)
Chef Mickey’s (Contemporary)
Cinderella’s Royal Table (Magic Kingdom)
Hoop-de-doo Revue (Fort Wilderness)

2. Don’t be afraid to ask for special shots

There are many different magical shots that the Disney photographers can do. They can add characters into your shots, use props and have lots of unique pose ideas to give you the best memories of your vacation. Just ask them what magical shots are available or what pose recommendations they have if you don’t already have your own ideas!

1. Use it as much as possible!

You will definitely love the hundreds of photos that you will have at the end of your vacation, and pictures really are the best souvenir to remember your time together. Use this package as much as possible to take full advantage of it. Make sure you watch for photograph spots and take the quick minute to stop and take pictures, serious and goofy ones. (See what I did there?) You will be so glad that you did when you are looking through all of your photos once you get home!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
