July 1 — Canada Day — turned out to be the perfect date for Walt Disney World Resort to open its newest World Showcase dining location: La Poutinerie.
La Poutinerie Is Finally Open
After months of watching brickwork go up, a roof get repainted, and construction walls slowly give way to a finished building, La Poutinerie officially welcomed its first guests on Wednesday. The construction barriers and rolling planters that had surrounded the former Refreshment Port building came down, revealing the completed Canada World Showcase Pavilion expansion in full for the first time.
WDWNT was among the first to document the newly opened location, sharing photos of the finished exterior and a first look at three of the menu items:
What’s on the Menu
The two specialty poutines anchor the food offerings. The Québec: L’Authentique ($10.99) keeps things classic with French fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy. The Montréal: Viande Fumée ($12.49) builds on that foundation of French fries and cheese curds with smoked meat, pickles, and mustard gravy — both options nod to one of Canada’s most beloved regional culinary traditions.
On the beverage side, the Spiced Apple Mule ($14.50) features frozen ginger beer blended with lime and spiced apple flavors and spiked with Iceberg Canadian Vodka. A non-alcoholic Spiced Apple Slushy is also available for guests who want the flavor without the spirits.
How the Space Got Here
Refreshment Port closed in January 2026, initially framed by Walt Disney World Resort as a routine refurbishment. Months passed before the resort confirmed the building would never reopen under its original name. Instead, Air Canada came on board as a sponsor, and La Poutinerie was announced — absorbing the former Refreshment Port footprint into the Canada World Showcase Pavilion and extending the pavilion’s presence along that stretch of World Showcase for the first time.
La Poutinerie is open most days from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the full schedule available on the Walt Disney World Resort website and through the My Disney Experience app.
