We’re getting close to ‘Spooky Season’ at Walt Disney World, thanks to the early arrival of Halloween in the Magic Kingdom, and we can’t wait!

In addition to seasonal festivities with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, this fall Guests will find a number of dates where they can experience one Disney Park earlier than usual.

Visiting the Magic Kingdom takes a little bit of extra planning from late summer into the fall with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicking off on August 12, 2022. On nights where this beloved Halloween celebration is taking place at the Disney Park, closing time for Guests without special event tickets will be 6:00 p.m. as the party kicks off at 7:00 p.m.

Guests attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are able to enter the Magic Kingdom using their party ticket beginning at 4:00 p.m., so they have a couple of hours to explore the theme park outside of the event (which runs 7:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.)

For Guests who are just trying to visit the Magic Kingdom for the day, the Park will open earlier at 8:00 a.m. to allow them more time in the park ahead of the 6:00 p.m. closure. This earlier opening time can be helpful for experiencing some of the Park’s most popular attractions in the morning with little to no wait times, and for getting some photos in front of Cinderella Castle or doing some shopping without having to fight the crowds.

Speaking of crowds, there are generally fewer Guests in the Magic Kingdom on days when Mickey’s Not-S0-Scary Halloween Party takes place in the evening. Especially if you are using Park Hopper tickets and would only be in the Park from 8:00 a.m. to about 2:00 p.m., you might want to plan your morning visit to the Magic Kingdom based on party dates.

This year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place:

  • August 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30
  • September 2, 5, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 29, 30
  • October 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31

Select dates have already sold out, though, so we recommend getting your tickets asap if you hope to attend! Otherwise, enjoy some earlier mornings in the Magic Kingdom, and have a magical trip!
