Magic Kingdom Park’s busiest shopping destination is getting another round of updates as Walt Disney World Resort continues to enhance the guest experience. The Emporium, the largest retail location on Main Street, U.S.A., has been undergoing renovations throughout 2025, and the Magic Kingdom has now introduced even more changes to the beloved 54-year-old shop.
Expanding the Retail Experience
Guests who visited The Emporium earlier this year may recall that construction walls covered approximately 20-25% of the store, limiting access to key sections, including the Youth and plush area. Merchandise displays had been removed to improve foot traffic, while a major exit near Casey’s Corner was temporarily blocked. Disney cast members implemented makeshift checkout lines and encouraged the use of Mobile Checkout via the My Disney Experience app to help ease congestion.
Some of those walls recently came down, revealing a freshly updated floor and a more open layout to streamline the shopping experience. Additionally, Disney removed a rarely-used register near Casey’s Corner to create better traffic flow, and guests can once again use the convenient Casey’s Corner exit to navigate toward Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square.
The Work Continues
While the first phase of renovations is complete, Disney has now moved forward with additional updates inside The Emporium. According to WDWNT, new construction walls have appeared, blocking the frequently used “Disney Clothiers” entrance along Main Street, U.S.A. Fortunately, no registers have been affected, and alternative entrances—including the one inside Casey’s Corner—remain open for guests.
The latest construction zone spans multiple sections of the store, including an area that typically showcases Youth apparel and plush toys. Some plush merchandise has now been relocated to smaller kiosks.
The current project may involve further layout adjustments or additional flooring updates to match the recently renovated sections. Given the scale of the work, Disney appears to be tackling The Emporium’s refurbishment in stages, likely shifting construction walls as each area is completed.
What’s Next for Magic Kingdom Park’s Emporium?
Walt Disney World Resort has yet to release an official statement detailing the full scope of The Emporium’s updates. Still, given the phased nature of these renovations, it’s likely that more areas will be refreshed in the coming months. Though the shop remains open, guests should anticipate periodic closures of certain sections as work continues.
