A Guest at Walt Disney World was arrested for lewd behavior at a beloved attraction in EPCOT’s World Showcase. The 36-year-old man garnered suspicion among Disney Cast Members when he requested to be seated alone in his vehicle on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The ride’s rat-shaped cars fit up to six riders–traditionally families enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime Disney World vacation.

Once the five-minute ride began, the accused Disney World Guest from New Jersey was first seen on ride security cameras smoking. After multiple attempts by Cast Members to stop the ride and make announcements over the loudspeaker that smoking was not allowed, the 36-year-old Guest removed his smartphone and began viewing pornographic material. His actions didn’t stop there as he proceeded to expose and touch himself. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the Disney Guest had multiple warrants for sex crimes in California and New Jersey.

Built in 2021, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is one of EPCOT’s newest attractions. Based on the 2007 Disney-Pixar film, it takes riders on a trackless 4D journey through Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant that includes oversized props, 3D screens, and immersive environments. The original dark ride debuted in Disneyland Paris in 2014 before being cloned for EPCOT’s World Showcase and placed in the France Pavillion. Its installment also kicked off a series of new attractions for the Disney theme Park including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Journey of Water, and EPCOT Forever (a new nighttime show).

Like many other Walt Disney World attractions, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is equipped with various security cameras for the safety of Cast Members and Guests. The disturbing incident at the Disney Park was caught on surveillance video and provided to the proper authorities. The Disney World Guest was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for exposing himself.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
