Mickey Mouse took some time off from his usual Park appearances for a special visit. Disney is familiar with spreading magic and granting extra happiness to children who need it. So it is no surprise that the mouse that started it all took a trip to a different kind of “campus”. Over the weekend, Mickey Mouse visited Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando.

Nemours Children’s Health described the visit, “they transformed our campus into a tropical paradise for a Luau-themed event for our amazing patients and their families.” Mickey showed up in his very best luau outfit, ready to enjoy the day with these families.

Mickey Mouse’s Hospital Visit

The recent hospital visit is just another reason why Disney is so magical. Disney has had a long-standing relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, giving children and their families unforgettable memories. This past May, the partnership celebrated 150,000 Disney wishes granted. This is only one of the many ways Disney gives back, as it’s an important part of the company.

Mickey Mouse took some time off from his busy schedule to visit children and their families at Nemours Children’s Health. The local hospital provides “pediatric and neonatal intensive care, cardiac critical care, and inpatient rehabilitation” to their patients, which is where Mickey headed.

The child life department assisted in arranging the event, capturing many moments between Mickey Mouse and patients. From the grinning smiles on both the children’s and families faces, it’s wonderful to see the happiness Disney can bring to others outside of the Parks. As Inside the Magic so perfectly wrote, “Through Mickey Mouse’s pediatric hospital visit, the magic came right where it was needed most.”
