This Tip Can Help Your Wait Time Fly By for Disney’s Most Popular Attractions

No one wants to wait in long lines for favorite attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort, but it is sometimes inevitable, especially if some of the Parks’ newest rides are at the top of your list.

While some of the latest attractions are only operating on virtual queues (or an Individual Lightning Lane purchase, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) others do still have plenty of space for you to wait in a traditional standby queue.

Some attractions have interactive queues, so if you are stuck waiting in the standby line you’ll have some ways to stay entertained. Still, Guests are always coming up with creative ways to make the time spent in line fly by, and one Guest at Disney’s Hollywood Studios may have found the best idea yet.

TikTok user @itsrobthebuilder was visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a friend who had never ridden Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and who had also never seen Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015). In an attempt to get his friend up to speed before boarding the ride, which is one of Disney’s most immersive attractions to date, the two actually watched the entire movie while waiting in line:

As you can see in the video above, this made for an incredibly memorable first ride on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance! (How cool would it be to go back to experience The Force Awakens for the first time, immediately followed by a ride on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance for the first time?)

This method of passing the time in line would not work for every attraction, as the wait time would need to be long enough to watch an entire movie, but a couple of replies in the comments noted that it has also worked while waiting in line for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror whether you opt to watch a couple of episodes of The Twilight Zone or the (1959-1964) the 1997 made-for-TV Tower of Terror movie starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst.

The same plan could work to get in some Mickey Mouse cartoons on a busy day for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and we would not be surprised to learn of someone watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) before boarding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Peter Pan (1953) before Peter Pan’s Flight in the Magic Kingdom.

Will you be taking this tip with you the next time you’re met with a long line for a ride at Disney World? Pack some headphones and an extra battery charger, and enjoy the movie!
