Even during normal circumstances, hot weather in Walt Disney World can be a significant concern, especially for infants, young children, and older people. The many theme Parks offer a lot of spots to cool down and free ice water at quick service locations. It’s also important to be aware of first aid stations, baby care centers, and various air-conditioned buildings. Each location can provide much-needed relief from the excessive heat as well as assistance if you experience any signs of heat illness. The spots also offer a great place to take a break and rest out of the sun and away from the crowds.

It’s always good advice to stay hydrated in the Disney theme Parks, regardless of age or health concerns. Some experts suggest stopping at least once an hour to cool down with water and air conditioning.

Although many recommend staying indoors in such extreme temperatures that may cramp an expensive and pre-planned vacation. So if you still maintain your Walt Disney World Resort plans, just remember to be careful about the risks of heat illness and take all necessary precautions.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
