Every Disney Park fan knows there is nothing more exciting than a new attraction.

A New Ride

Despite everyone’s preference regarding their top theme Park, favorite characters, or opinions on what rides or shows would best suit where there are few things more exciting than a new experience at Walt Disney World Resort (or the Disneyland Resort).

As of June 8, the Walt Disney World digital app showed a new logo advertising the Park’s upcoming 2024 attraction for the very first time.

What We Know

A couple of weeks ago, Disney announced that the new attraction would include 17 new audio-animatronics, original songs, and music inspired by New Orleans jazz.

Much of the cast from the original film The Princess and the Frog (2009) will be reprising their voice acting roles, including those of Mama Odie, Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and the jazz loving alligator Louis.

The plot of the new ride (as of this writing) takes place after the ending events of the 2009 movie. Princess Tiana is busy working at her new business Tiana’s Foods, located in and around an old salt mine. The flume ride will then take Guests through the storyline of Tiana planning an incredible party and searching for the ingredients she needs.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will use the same track system and layout as the former Splash Mountain attraction, ensuring the same water-soaked splashes, fifty-foot plunge, and immersive scenes.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
