We are so excited to learn of a new addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World! There was a new baby giraffe calf born at Kilimanjaro Safaris. The baby calf is a Masai giraffe, born to Mara, who lives on the savanna at Kilimanjaro Safaris. Some guests were actually able to see the calf being born when on the attraction on January 14th, 2019. The new calf and its mother are currently bonding very well and are out on view for guests to see on the attraction. We don’t know yet if the new giraffe calf is male or female, or what the name will be, but we are sure we will hear more on that soon!

Animal Kingdom is home to a variety of different animals and is part of a breeding program to help preserve endangered and critically endangered species. This is so important so that we can have these amazing animals around for many years to come. Disney continues to learn more about these endangered animals so that they can help protect them in the wild, too.
How many of you can’t wait to check out this new giraffe calf?
