For most people, the main draw of Walt Disney World is the parks. This makes perfect sense. After all, what would Disney World be without its amazing dark rides, character meet-and-greets, and of course, the iconic castle? That said, there is more to Disney than just those four amazing theme parks. In fact, even just the hotels on Disney property offer some incredible and magical experiences. For this reason, we highly recommend planning a resort day the next time you take a Disney World vacation. One of our very favorite resorts to stay in is the BoardWalk Inn Resort. Why? Well, because it offers some amazing resort day fun. If you’re planning a day at this resort in the near future, here are some tips for you.

1. Start Your Day Off by Having Breakfast with Friends

Like any good Disney day, a day at the BoardWalk Inn simply must include some favorite Disney friends. For this reason, we highly recommend the “Bon Voyage Breakfast” with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. This breakfast takes place in Trattoria al Forno and includes some of the best breakfast foods on property. Besides, who could resist a meal with a beautiful princess?

2. Go for a Swim

One of the best things about the Disney Resorts is the fact that they have some seriously amazing swimming pools. BoardWalk Inn is no exception. The pool at this resort has a seriously fun carnival theme that kids absolutely adore. The water slide makes things even more fun, and the plentiful seating and snack bar will keep everyone comfy for quite some time.

3. Walk the ’Walk

When pool time is over, you simply must head out to the BoardWalk. Here you’ll find all kinds of amusements, including some awesome quick-service places to grab lunch, live entertainers, and even some good old-fashioned boardwalk games. One could easily spend hours wandering the BoardWalk and never once get bored. That said, you will want to head back to the hotel eventually, because there is still plenty to do and see there as well.

4. Play Some Games

If the boardwalk games aren’t enough for you, you might want to check out Slide Show Games Arcade. This is the ideal place for kids (and kids at heart) to have a blast as they play some of their favorite video games. Want even more gaming fun? Check out the arcade located in ESPN Sports Club. These are all sports-themed games, and they’re the perfect way to make a delicious meal at the restaurant even better.

5. Have a Yummy Dinner

If you decide to go to ESPN Club, you’ve got dinner covered. Otherwise, you may be wondering where to grab a bite. Fortunately, BoardWalk Inn offers plenty of options, and every single one of them is just as good as the last. Flying Fish is a great choice if you’re looking for fine dining. Meanwhile, Big River Grille & Brewing Works will satisfy the more laid-back individual. Those looking to enjoy a quick dinner in their room can get something from The To-Go Cart or simply order room service.

6. Gather Around a Fire and Catch a Movie

After dinner, there are a couple of things you can do to fill your time. One of our favorites is the campfire and outdoor movie that both happen at the BoardWalk Inn each night. The movie rotates but is always a wonderful, family-friendly Disney film that is sure to please people of all ages. Meanwhile, the campfire is a super fun way to bring everyone together after a long day. You can get a schedule of movies from the front desk. Go on a night when one of your favorites is showing, and be sure to take snacks, drinks, and chairs or blankets so you can sit comfortably and enjoy the show.

7. Watch the Fireworks

Another great option is to watch the fireworks. Yes, this can be done without going into the parks. In fact, there are a number of places to watch the fireworks outside of the parks. One of these is the BoardWalk. We recommend finding a place on the bridge between the BoardWalk Inn and the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. Here you can get a decent view of the Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios fireworks displays without ever moving. How cool is that?

Clearly, BoardWalk Inn is the ideal place to spend a super fun resort day. Add one of these ideas into your day, or try to squeeze them all in. Either way, you’re sure to have a blast!
