Refurbishments are a necessary part of operating theme park attractions, and unfortunately for fans of one of Disney’s most thrilling rides, a lengthy refurbishment is still on the calendar.
The good news, however, is that the start date of this upcoming refurbishment has changed, giving Guests one last chance to ride a favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios attractions before maintenance work begins.

No changes have been announced for the attraction itself, so at this time, the refurbishment appears to be for routine maintenance work. Still, fans have speculated that a new theme could be coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for years.
The speculation of a retheme among fans has recently turned to focus on Powerline from A Goofy Movie (1995) as an iconic musical Disney character where the ride’s theme of taking a “super stretch” limo to a concert would make sense. Hollywood Studios recently debuted a new character meet and greet featuring Max as Powerline, which has added to the speculation.
For now, we will continue to monitor work on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and will report back with updates as they are available here on Disney Tips.
