Ice cream fans, listen up because you will love this. If you have been at Disney Springs recently, you may have noticed the construction walls for Salt & Straw.
Those from or who have traveled to California may be familiar with this company. Salt & Straw is already at Downtown Disney in California. There are also several other West Coast locations, and it’s originally based in Portland, Oregon.
An email was sent saying by Alison Hiatt, Chief Market Officer for Salt & Straw and said: “We are THRILLED to say we plan to open in March — exact timeline still pending construction — but that is our current plan.”

The company had announced in June 2021 that it would be opening a location at Disney Springs. Originally Ample Hills Creamery was supposed to be at this location, but COVID had other plans.
Ample Hills Creamery did have a location at Disney’s BoardWalk, but the ice cream shop never reopened once Walt Disney World closed in 2020 due to COVID-19. Once the building reopened, it was called BoardWalk Ice Cream.
In June, the company shared on its Facebook page: “We can’t wait to meet you, Disney Springs! So excited to bring our scoops to “the Most Magical Place on Earth” in 2022,”
So if you love ice cream, you will want to check Salt & Straw out when it opens. Their ice cream is made by hand, and according to their website, the company also promotes collaborations with local “makers, farmers, and chefs who inspire us to tell stories through our ever-changing menu of new flavors.”
If you are vegan or have a dairy allergy, they also have dairy free flavors available (as seen in the photo below), so ice cream for everyone!
If you really can’t wait until March, there are two other locations in the Miami area. This will be the third location in Florida.
