Have you visited Walt Disney World’s newest Resort, Riviera Resort, yet?

Nestled on the shores of Barefoot Bay, the 15th Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resort to open offers studios through to three-bedroom villas. The Resort offers three quick-service restaurants, one full-service restaurant that offers character dining at breakfast, La Boutique – where you can purchase special Resort merchandise – and two pools, amongst other recreational offerings.

Inspired by Europe, this Resort has a smaller, but no less grander, feel than other Walt Disney World resorts, as all parts of the hotel are accessed within one building.

We’ve recently stayed for a night, and it’s safe to say that we are definitely hoping to visit again for another stay; the grounds are stunning, the rooms are elegant and classy, and it would be rude not to stop by the stunning mosaic art pieces on the way to/from the Skyliner.

But there’s one more thing you need to check out – Disney’s Riviera Resort Signature Art Collection Search!

Stop by the DVC desk in the lobby, diagonally across from La Boutique, and ask to take part in the scavenger hunt. A Cast Member will provide you with a set of stickers, and a sheet with the Resort map, that will help you to find the 10 pieces of art around Riviera Resort.

As you find each piece, place the sticker that best matches the artwork on your Resort Map. Once complete, return to the DVC desk and receive your free piece of Disney art as a reward for your hard work!

This is certainly a great way to get to know the Resort if it is your first time visiting, and provides you with a view of some incredible pieces of art, that you may miss if you aren’t staying at Riviera Resort.

If you haven’t seen enough after completing the hunt, follow the corridors between the West and East elevators of each floor to see many more masterpieces.

The Signature Art Collection Search is a free activity that anyone can take part in – don’t worry if you aren’t a Riviera Resort or other Disney Resort Guest during your trip.

There is also no time limit to completing the scavenger hunt, so you can take as long as you like to explore the Resort whilst on your hunt, enjoying the offerings and taking a rest when you need it. We just recommend completing it on the same day as you begin your hunt.

If you’re looking for recommendations on how to fit the scavenger hunt into your trip to Walt Disney World, here are some ideas to inspire you:

Morning Fun

This would make for an awesome morning activity, when you need to take things a little more slowly, and away from the Parks. Make your way to Riviera and stop by Primo Piatto for a helping of Mickey and Minnie waffles, or another choice of breakfast item.

There are some great seating areas on offer around the restaurant: stay inside in the AC; or make your way outside to the waterfront, to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine. Following the scavenger hunt, take some time to enjoy the lawn games on offer outside the rear of the lobby. There are plenty to choose from – Connect 4, giant chess, and a European favorite, Boccia (the Resort has a dedicated lawn for the game!)

A Break From the Sun

The scavenger hunt could be a great afternoon activity when it’s hot and you and your family are needing a little break from the sun.

Most of the art pieces are located indoors so you can enjoy the AC. There are also some great seating areas around the Resort that you could stop by at mid-hunt to rest your feet and take in the beautiful surroundings.

A favorite spot of ours is just beyond the DVC desk, outside you’ll find a covered seating area with cushion-covered chairs.

Skyliner Adventure Day

This would work as part of a Skyliner Resort tour. We’d recommend starting at Art of Animation or Pop Century. From there, catch the Skyliner to Caribbean Beach, where you can walk to Old Port Royale.

Continue along the path from there, passing Martinique on your right, and across the lake, you will see the beautiful Riviera Resort. Within 10 minutes, you will reach the Resort, passing the beaches and pool areas on your left, eventually coming to the Activity Lawn area where you can enter the hotel.

Evening Magic

As a Riviera Resort Guest, the scavenger hunt would be a great evening activity before watching a Movie Under the Stars or toasting marshmallows at the campfire.

Taking part earlier on in your stay would be a great way of getting to know the Resort, and familiarize yourself with the locations of offerings the Resort has.

No matter what time of day you choose to take part in the scavenger hunt, there are plenty of ways to get to Riviera. If you are visiting outside of peak seasons, you are likely to be able to park at the Resort – you’ll need to tell security why you are visiting, and present a photo ID to park at the Resort.

Alternatively, take the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios or EPCOT (you will need to exit via International Gateway). If coming from Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs, hop on the Disney Transportation System buses.

Have a great time on your scavenger hunt, and really do take in the beauty of Riviera Resort! Remember to take some photos along the way – it’ll be hard to resist taking one by the stunning mosaic Peter Pan and Tangled pieces!
