7 Ways To Stay Sane On A Walt Disney World Vacation

Walt Disney World is a place where wonderful memories are made for the whole family. Sometimes, though, it can be a bit overwhelming. Whether you’re with your family or a group of friends you’ll want for it to be fun for everyone. Here are seven tips to stay sane on your next Disney vacation.

7) Do Your Research

Make sure to research Walt Disney World as much as you can before you plan your trip. Figure out if you want to do all the parks and in how many days. Also, decide ahead of time if you want to do one park a day or use Park Hopper. Make a list of the most important attractions that you’ll want to do. Look at the map ahead of time if you’ve never been there before to get an idea of where everything is. If you’re bringing your little ones make sure to look up the height requirements so you’ll know which rides they can and cannot do. Disney can be very overwhelming if you go there without a game plan.

6) Wear Sunscreen

This is something that you can’t take lightly. Florida is known as the “Sunshine State” and that could not be more accurate. You will be in the sun a lot and without sunscreen you will burn. Even if you don’t burn easily you will still want to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays. If you spend your vacation with a sunburn you will not enjoy your trip as much since you will be in so much pain. Make sure to reapply the sunscreen throughout the day. Even in the winter in Florida you will burn so make sure to wear sunscreen in the cooler months as well.

5) Stay Hydrated

You will be in the heat for hours at a time while at the parks, much of that will be in the sun. It is very important to stay hydrated. Water is the best choice over soda or alcohol. You can bring water bottles into the parks and there are plenty of water fountains where you can refill them. Also, you can get a free cup of ice water at the restaurants. There is no excuse to not stay hydrated.

4) Pack Smart

Before you leave on your vacation see what the weather looks like. Of course Florida’s weather can be very unpredictable, so be prepared for anything. Make sure to bring ponchos and umbrellas because you might get caught in a rainstorm. Also have plastic bags to keep your electronics in so they won’t get wet. In the winter months you will want to still bring a jacket because Florida can get cool, especially after dark. Just be prepared for whatever crazy weather Florida will throw your way and you’ll be fine.

3) Off Day

On your Walt Disney World vacation you’ll want to get in as much as possible. If you do a park every day you will be exhausted and may not enjoy your time there as much as you should. It’s always a good idea to plan an off day. You can go to Disney Springs and browse the shops or check out the incredible Walt Disney World Resorts. You can sleep in and relax at the pool. Disney can take a lot out of you, so you need to take care of yourself and not push yourself too hard. After your off day you’ll be refreshed and ready to take on the next park and enjoy your day.

2) Dining Reservations

Walt Disney World has some incredible restaurants with all different types of food. Make sure to look into what restaurants you will want to go to early and make a reservation. If you don’t, you may not be able to get in or if you do there will be a long wait. A long wait will make anyone go insane if they’re hungry. You can see all the menus online ahead of time, so planning where to eat will be easy.

1) FastPass+
