Disney’s BoardWalk is an incredible place. Now before you ask, no, it is not part of Disney Springs, it is a completely different place. Often guests think that it’s the same, but it’s not. Whether you are on vacation or you are local, Disney’s BoardWalk is a must do. Many people don’t know all there is to do at Disney’s BoardWalk, so here are six reasons why you should check out the area.

6) Exercise
So you’re on your Walt Disney World vacation and you still want to keep up your exercise routine. Disney’s BoardWalk is a perfect place to go for a walk or a run. Locals even love doing a couple of loops around Disney’s BoardWalk, you can’t beat the location. One loop around Crescent Lake is 8/10 of a mile, and you add even more to your workout by taking the path to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
5) Rent a Surrey Bike
When you go down to Disney’s BoardWalk you will see many surrey bikes ride by. Looks like fun, right? Well, you and your family can rent one and go for a great ride around Crescent Lake. You can rent for half an hour or a full hour at a time. Note that there are age restrictions on who can drive, and height restrictions on who can pedal. Make sure to put safety first and keep an eye out for people walking. There are also two hills along the loop, so you will be getting your workout in.
4) Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall
Some people think that Walt Disney World is all about the kids, but Disney has some special things that are only for the adults. Disney’s BoardWalk has two clubs that are for those who are 21 and up. At Atlantic Dance Hall you can dance the night away. Don’t worry if you have no cash on you, there is no cover charge to get in. Jellyrolls, on the other hand, does have a cover charge. It features dueling pianos like you’ve never seen.
3) Fireworks
Anyone that has ever been to Walt Disney World knows that Disney has the best firework shows. Well, did you know that you can see part of Epcot’s IllumiNations without having to go in the park? There are many spots around Crescent Lake where you will be able to see the show, but the best spot would be on the bridge by the International Gateway entrance. If that’s too crowded, you can also get a great view on the second bridge near Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Hotels.

2) Restaurants
Walt Disney World has some of the best restaurants in Central Florida. A few of those amazing restaurants are at Disney’s BoardWalk; they have four full service options. Big River Grille & Brewing Works has a working brewery right in the restaurant. Trattoria al Forno has some delicious Italian cuisine. While at ESPN Club, you don’t have to miss any of your favorite sports; you will have a great meal and cheer for your favorite team at the same time. Flying Fish Cafe serves mostly seafood in a unique atmosphere. For quick meals or snacks Disney’s BoardWalk has a pizza window, and at the To-Go-Cart they have items like hot dogs and other quick foods. There is even a funnel cake stand, and at Seashore Sweets they have ice cream, candy, and other treats. Of course you will need to check out BoardWalk Bakery for some amazing sweets.
1) Street Performers
This may be one of the best free things that you can do in Florida. Every night from 7:00 until 10:00 street performers will come out to entertain the crowds. There are six different performers total on contract, and three perform each night. From magicians to jugglers, you will be amazed and entertained. They often need volunteers, so you just might become a part of the show. The two spots where they perform are in front of Flying Fish Cafe and in front of the Screen Door General Store. If the weather is bad, they will move the shows inside Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
